Rochester families filled the Kodak Center this weekend for Elmo & Friends Say Hello!, and it’s safe to say that this show was pure joy from start to finish — especially for the tiniest fans. I brought my 14-month-old, and to my surprise and delight, she was completely mesmerized.
From the moment Elmo walked on stage, she was locked in. She sat still — truly still! — and watched every song, dance, and friendly wave with wide-eyed focus. That alone made the entire experience worth it, but the magic didn’t stop there.
One of her favorite parts was when the audience helped Elmo look for his dog, Tango. They practiced waving and saying “hello” together, and ever since the show, she’s been greeting everyone we meet with the biggest smile and the sweetest little wave. It’s like Elmo personally taught her how to say hi to the world. ❤️
The show itself was everything you’d hope for from Sesame Street Live — colorful staging, gentle storylines, familiar songs, and upbeat messages about friendship, kindness, and being part of a community. It was truly designed with little attention spans in mind while still creating moments the whole family could appreciate.
A wonderful surprise? We ended up sitting right behind one of our giveaway winners, Caitlyn, and her beautiful family. Getting to share the excitement with them — and even make a new friend — was such a heartwarming moment. That’s really what outings like this are all about: connecting, smiling, and experiencing something special together.
If you have a little Sesame Street fan at home (or even a baby who loves music and color), this show is absolutely worth seeing next time it comes through Rochester. It was a memory-maker for us — and clearly, the start of many cheerful “hellos” from my little one!
